Review of the film “Excellence”/”Transcentens”.

To somehow fill your free time last weekend, my friend and I decided to go to the movie. The choice of the film turned out to be a rather trivial task, since in our “Divine” cinema the company today was mainly sequels of films from Marvel, whose fans we are by no means, but romantic comedies, to spend 10 euros on the viewing of which did not allow conscience. And so, superiority.

Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) – a famous researcher in the field of artificial intelligence – is working on the creation of a supercomputer who can accommodate all the knowledge of mankind and a complete range of human emotions. His widely known experiments not only bring the Caster popularity, but also make it number one target for extremists who are ready to go to anything, just to stop Will. However, going to the killing of a scientist, they did not suspect that they would make him a participant in his own experiment ..

From this film, people expected a lot. https://noidverificationcasinos.co.uk/review/betfoxx/ No matter how, in the director’s chair, the “Oscar -winning” operator Christopher Nolan, Wally Pfister, and Nolan himself is the producer of the film, for the first time in his career. In addition, many expected Johnny Depp’s triumphal to the pedestal of the best actors of Hollywood, after the average films of recent years (a rum diary, gloomy shadows, and more than an average lonely ranger). I also had the same hopes. Whether they were justified?

About the game of actors. Johnny Depp, it seems, has finally left the image of Captain Jack Vorobya, but the film has another problem with this – Depp has an hour out of two out of the way, and then if you count the moments of his face projecting on the monitor, where it did not convey any emotions at all. And the main character is, suddenly, Willa Caster’s wife, Evelyn, played by Rebecca Hall, whose involvement was not advertised in the film (at least with us) almost nowhere. And not that her game would be bad, but … at least, she personally did not call me enthusiasm. One of the main secondary roles is also the role of a doctor’s friend, Max played by Bettani Paul. The roles of Morgan Freeman and Killian Merphy are generally limited to a couple of replicas, and do not bear almost no sense for a general plot.

By the way, about the plot and script. He suffers from many illogicals and oddities. The motivation of the main characters is not too understandable, their actions often look frankly stupid and naive, the reaction to this other characters also looks like this. The FBI agent is investigating a high -level business alone (!), using only detachments of some mercenaries with “kalash” (!), and collaborating with terrorists, all this porridge and muffled (. ).

Visually the film does not stand out. There are practically no special effects, and those that are clearly not even the beginning and betmen. The workshop of operator work is also not felt, because in most the film it is only in the change of angles from the spin of two participants in the conversation.

The music for the film was written by Canadian composer Michael Danna, who was awarded Oscar for the music for the film “Life Pi”. And again, this is an ordinary, ordinary soundtrack, which is not a special.

So, the film is complete failure? No. With all the disadvantages, this is a quite high-quality, integral, finished work without any large ambitions and backlogs on the sequels. The same summer viewing in the cinema is quite worthy. However, will I strictly recommend it to anyone? Don’t think.
